How Acupuncture Heals

In chronic pain, the brain shunts blood flow to and from the affected area to protect itself from further harm. Acupuncture conducts ion flow increasing microcirculation and sends a strong proprioceptive signal to the brain — bringing blood flow back so the body can heal itself. Acupuncture works by breaking the pain cycle.
Fascia is a structure of connective tissue that surrounds muscles, groups of muscles, blood vessels, and nerves. Research has shown that fascia is one large piece — and where it overlaps and converges in the body is where acupuncture meridians and points lie.
